Wild Daisies In The Garden

Hello and welcome!  I am so glad you stopped by for tea!

For this weeks tea I took some photo's of my flower garden at my little farm.  It has been too hot to weed so I see the wild daisies are trying to take over!

I rounded up all of my aqua accessories.

The book  Dandelion Cottage was written by a local author, Carroll Watson Rankin.  The setting of Dandelion Cottage is in my home town.  The book is about four young girls who were given permission by the local parish to turn the cottage into their play house as long as they keep the dandelions picked in the yard.  It is a sweet old fashioned story, written in 1904.

Sit a spell and enjoy the beautiful day.

Now that I had my tea and it is cooler today I see I need to spend some time in the garden tackling the weeds!  Thank you so much for visiting and please come back soon!

I will be joining the following parties this week:  A Return To Loveliness, Tea Time Tuesday, Tea In The Garden, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Teacup Tuesday, Cottage Garden Party, Share Your Cup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, and Show and Tell Friday.

Hi Nancy! What a lovely aqua themed tea among the daisies. Cute doll and story book too. I imagine you stay busy with gardening since you have two properties. Your garden is lovely, and the perfect spot for a cup of tea! Hugs, Phyllis

Very attractively-set table! And I can see you reflected in the teapot, along with the cups and saucers!

Simply charming, and so welcoming amongst the daisies!

I do think the addition of a book to any and every "scape" adds another dimension of enjoyment, whether it's old or noteworthy or from your childhood, or celebrating an author or an era. The simple quick paperback you picked up for a Summer hour gives its own special anticipation to the scene.

And please say these lovely daisies were not the object of your weeding energy. Just look at those eager little faces with such joyful greeting.

I would love some of your "wild daisies!" Please don't pick the daisies! they are so perky and pretty and sunny! Your doll seems to be a bit lonely...she needs her playmates from the Dandelion Cottage to come join her for tea! I've never read that book before. I must look it up! Thank you for sharing your daisy tea time with us! Such a lovely spot for a spot of tea with thee! :)

I was just wondering if that book is still for sale there? I am looking for it online, but it looks like it has a different cover (not very interesting)...and old versions of the book are very expensive. Do they sell it in your community? If so, I'd love to hear more about it. (price, etc.) Thank you!

How beautiful Nancy
I really must take the time to get out my china and do up a tea time for a couple girlfriends or even just for myself. Isn't that what gardens are for. I will make sure to link up with my blog over at mermaid-at-frog-hollow.blogspot.com when I do so you can see your influence.

What an absolutely wonderful setting. It wasn't warm enough to sit in our garden today, but I could still enjoy it.

I LOVE the way your garden looks with daisies growing all over the place!! :-) And the Dandelion cottage book looks so charming. I might have to look for a copy. (I always loved dandelions when I was a girl. When I got married, my little sisters brought me a dandelion to insert into my bouquet.)

Nancy, I love the cottage feel that daisies bring to the garden. I have a couple of them and they are putting on a show right now. Your table is so pretty. Have not heard of the book. What a cute title! I have a doll just like that one. It was one I inherited from my mother. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
